Is your child between 8 & 18 years of age? Are struggling to enrol them in recreation opportunities in the community? This page is for you!
There are a number of organizations that can help with registration for recreational activities covering the cost of registration and sometimes equipment. Please note, the full registration may not be covered. Each child is maxed out at $300 a year, however, due to the number of applications it is not guaranteed that you will receive the full amount.
- Canadian Tire Jumpstart
Canadian Tire Jumpstart supports physical recreation activities and also Girl Guides and Boy Scouts. Below is the link. There will be a few items that will need downloading.

2. Child & Family Services Foundation has the Chance 2 Programs; including Chance to Grow – Recreation opportunities. Chance to Camp, Aaron’s Chance to Play Hockey. Make sure you are living in the region designated. https://cfscmfoundation.ca/our-chance-2-programs/
3. Create or Play Program; Create or Play Program is administered by Big Brothers Big Sisters and the Family Resource Centre. Funds come from funding initiative of Citizens on Patrol. These funds are largely for the RM of Portage and Portage la Prairie. Exceptions may be made.
