Hi everyone! I’m Brianna. BBBS Central Plains has played such a major role in my life. When I was in grade 12, a full decade ago, I began my journey as an in-school mentor. It was such a beautiful experience that I became hooked on mentoring & the positive impacts that follow.
I ended up working for BBBS Central Plains for 3 summers, and they are some of the most joyous memories of my life! Dawn & Laura have become beloved mentors of mine along the way, including helping to land me a seat on the BBBS National Youth Mentoring Advisory Council (NYMAC) from 2017-2020.
My first position out of university was again working as a Mentoring Coordinator for BBBS – they really have played such a pivotal role at every step of my career so far!
Where am I now?
Well, I managed to land a dream job working for Make-A-Wish Canada as the Wish Coordinator for Manitoba & Nunavut. Who connected me to this opportunity? None other than Dawn herself! I get to make kids’ wishes come true every day. It is the perfect fit for me and wouldn’t be possible without the support of BBBS Central Plains. Fun fact: I get to grant my own cousin’s wish, who also is a little brother through BBBS!
