the ULTIMATE 90 Hole Golf Marathon

Fact Sheet
Golfers are being invited to take part in “the Ultimate 90 Hole Golf Marathon” on Friday, June 21, 2024 at the Portage Golf Course, RAIN OR SHINE!

This unique event is being brought back for this year only, to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Big Brothers Big Sisters.  This is for the ‘keen and ready’ golfers, and no more than 8 full spots are available to enter this marathon.  Each golfer will have his/her own cart, and play in a group of 4 or a team of 5, depending.  Each golfer or team will play 90 holes of golf in one day!  Starting at 7am and finishing at 7pm, there will be 12 hours to complete the challenge.  Following the event there will be a dinner.  Golfing times will be issued closer to the event.

The Ultimate Experience

When a ‘normal’ round of golf takes approximately 4 hours, you might wonder how 5 rounds can be completed in 12 hours or less.  Although each golfer will play a ‘normal’ round of golf in that they will be scoring each hole, some of the rules have been amended to allow for faster play during ‘the Ultimate 90 Hole Golf Marathon’.

Each golfer will receive:

  • Power golf cart (if they don’t have their own)
  • Golf Balls
  • All meals

If you accept this challenge as a participating golfer, you must commit to raising the minimum dollars required for your category* through pledges.  The monies raised from this marathon will go to Big Brothers Big Sisters to ignite the power and potential of young people.

Giving Online

One of the easiest methods I’ve found to collect pledges and sponsors it to make the ask through email.  I explain what I am doing, who I am fundraising for and the need and then attached the link below.  There are a number of people who will give online and those not comfortable with that method can still give you a cheque or cash.

Set Up Your Personal Fundraising Page

  • Zeffy is safe and tax receipts will be issued directly from the site. We use Zeffy, as they do not charge us fees.
