BIG Duck Race will be held July 1, 6:30 pm at Splash Island.  Everyone welcome.

Tickets $5 each or 3 for $10.

Buy your tickets at Mr Mikes, Big Brothers Big Sisters, United Way, Stride Place until June 30th 2pm.  Available at Canada Day Festivities (July 1, 2022) until 4:30pm.

“BIG” DUCK RACE – Official Rules and Regulations

How it will run

Each ticket has a corresponding duck.  When a person purchases a ticket, that same numbered duck will be entered into the race.  Only the duck numbers sold will be entered into the draw(race).

On the day of the event, all racing ducks are sent down the waterslide to a waiting area in the pool.  At 6:30 the lazy river is turned on and the barrier is released so the ducks can float down the lazy river.  At the end of the lazy river is another barricade with an opening just large enough for a duck to get through.  The first three ducks through are the winners.

  1. Prize Eligibility
  2. Any age may purchase a ticket.
  3. Employees of the agency and the agency board members are not permitted to buy tickets or win prizes. Family members of agency staff and board members are allowed to purchase tickets and win prizes.  If a family member of one of the above restricted parties buys a ticket and puts a name of one of the restricted parties on the ticket, the ticket becomes void and ineligible to win a prize with no refund given to the ticket buyer.

 

  1. Race Location
  2. The Duck Race will take place July 1, 2022 at Splash Island, 245 Royal Rd S., Portage la Prairie.
  3. The race will start at 6:30pm and be completed by 7:00pm.

 

  1. Awarding of Prizes. Prizes will be awarded as follows:
  2. First place prize will be awarded to the person who has purchased the ticket that is numbered the same as the first duck to cross the finish line.
  3. Second place prize will be awarded to the person who has purchased the ticket that is numbered the same as the second duck to cross the finish line.
  4. Third place prize will be awarded to the person who has purchased the ticket that is numbered the same as the third duck to cross the finish line.
  5. Agency staff will decide which ducks cross the finish line and in what order. All decisions by agency staff are final.
  6. All prizes are awarded as advertised and cannot be substituted for cash prizes.
  7. If the bearer of the winning ticket does not claim the prize within 30 days of the race, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Plains will retain ownership of the prize.
  8. Winners must pick up their winning prize at the BBBS office or depending on the prize the location of the business.
  9. Winners will be posted on agency website and social media.

  2. Ticket sales will run until July 1, 2022 4:30pm.
  3. Total number of tickets printed is 2850.
  4. Tickets will be sold 1 for $5, 3 for $10, The different price tickets will be printed in different colours to differentiate the difference.
  5. All ticket sales are final.
  6. Tickets shall not be sold or advertised outside the Province of Manitoba
